First graders have a natural enthusiasm for movement. They continue to work in pairs, small groups and whole class activities. As their body awareness, movement and coordination skills mature, they gain more control. This allows greater success across a wide range of equipment and activities.
The End-of-Year K - 4 Sports Day will be on ...TBA. Throughout the year, students practice appropriate SAQ and FMS as part of each lesson - usually as part of the warm-up. SEPT - OCT Fun and Fitness, FMS Running, Skipping, Kicking, Targets NOV - JAN Fun and Fitness, FMS, Climb, Jump, Hop Gymnastics FEB - MAR Fun and Fitness, FMS, Gallop, Side step, Catch. Bounce, Team games First Grade's swimming unit will take place around February Break on Tuesday mornings Jan 29, Feb 5, 12, Mar 5, 12, 19. APR - JUN Fun and Fitness, FMS, Throw, Kick, Run, Games: Kickball, T-Ball Practicing skills for Sports Day activities. Students need a pair of clean indoor P.E. shoes and should wear appropriate clothing on P.E. days. |
